Top 4 Announcements

VMware Tanzu and Project Pacific Beta Programs

Two major announcements at VMworld US brought together VMware aficionados new and old; VMware Tanzu and Project Pacific. Jointly they’ll enable customers to build, deploy, run and manage Kubernetes on any environment, including vSphere. VMworld Europe took things up a notch, announcing the beta release of both portfolios ahead of schedule due to overwhelming demand.

VMware Cloud on AWS Expands (Again!)

The flagship solution VMware Cloud on AWS continues its expansion in leaps and bounds with the announcement of availability in the AWS EU (Stockholm) region. No wonder European attendees couldn’t wait to get their hands on VMware Cloud solutions at Cloud City (more on that below). The announcement brings the total number of available regions in Europe to five, and globally to 17 – in just two years.

Project Path: New Capabilities for Cloud Providers and MSPs

The event included a tech preview of the newly announced Project Path. The offering will build on VMware Cloud Provider, VMware vCloud Director and VMware Cloud Provider Hub to unify management and operations across all VMware Cloud endpoints for Cloud Providers and Managed Service Providers (MSPs). The new offering will also improve the management of customer usage, billing and support across endpoints.

Project Maestro: Bringing Harmony to the Multi-Cloud

The second major tech preview at VMworld Europe marked a pivotal moment for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) with the announcement of a telco cloud orchestrator to automate and simplify operations from the data center to public cloud and the edge. The new offering will accelerate time-to-market for new services, and simplify and reduce multi-cloud management costs for service providers.

Cloud City

Our interactive learning and experience space, Cloud City, continued its world tour, arriving in Barcelona to deliver personalized guidance for thousands of customers at every level; from cloud-curious to cloud-champions. Talking cloud is no small feat with topics from hybrid cloud strategy and Kubernetes management to multi-cloud operations and cloud economics – but experts took to the task with an engaging 18 sessions across three days.

The most popular session of the event was Cloud Economics: The Business Case for Hybrid Cloud, delivered to 60+ attendees with standing room only. Looks like everyone wants to know how to sell in the benefits of hybrid cloud to their enterprise.
