Click here to see all the paths to acquire VCP 2024 certification
If you have a certification from Cisco such as CCNA, CCNP, and/or CCIE, and would like to acquire VCP-NV certification, you can use your proof of Cisco certification to skip the required course.
The guidelines here are:
- Can skip the required course attendance
- Need to Submit the proof of CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification
- Need to pass the Elective VCP-NV exam only
- Only for NV solution track, and does NOT apply for other solution tracks
The diagram below is the overall image. To acquire VCP-NV certification, you usually have to attend the required course but can skip that by submitting the proof of the Cisco certification.
For how to submit the proof, refer below:
- Go to VCP-NV certification page https://www.vmware.com/learning/certification/vcp-nv-nsxt.html
- Click “Certification Paths” – “Path if you hold” – “Cisco Certification”
- Click and expand “Submit proof that you hold an Active/Non-Expired Cisco CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certification”
- Click “Submit proof” https://www.vmware.com/learning/certification/cisco-verification-request.html
- Follow the steps in the page to submit the proof
You also need to take and pass one of the exams.

- VMware NSX 4.x Professional V2 (2V0 – 41.24)
- VMware NSX 4.x Professional (2V0-41.23) (Retiring soon on June 30, 2024)
