There are several VCP acquisition paths that DO NOT require vSphere Foundations Exam.
It is currently applied to VCP-DCV, -NV, and -DW solution tracks. Note that it is not applicable for -CMA and -DTM solution tracks. Please also refer to VCP 2020 for the first time path.
Here is an example to earn VCP-DCV without vSphere Foundations Exam.
It is only applied if the course and and exam is both vSphere 7. Not applied for any combination having vSphere 6.7 or lower, which requires passing vSphere Foundations Exam.
Here is an example to earn VCP-NV without vSphere Foundations Exam.
It is only applied if the course and and exam is both NSX-T Data Center. Not applied for any combination having NSX for vSphere, which requires passing vSphere Foundations Exam.
Here is an example to earn VCP-DW without vSphere Foundations Exam.
Actually this is not much changed since DW solution track did not require vSphere Foundations Exam from the beginning.
