VMware vSAN 6.6 Deploy and Manage Training Class

VMware Education has just released a new training class titled VMware vSAN: Deploy and Manage [V6.6]. I had the opportunity to attend the beta version of this class and help shape the content that is delivered. The class is a 3-day, instructor-led technical training course that features an excellent balance of lecture and hands-on lab time. It is intended for individuals that have a solid understanding of and experience with vSphere and vCenter Server, but are new to VMware vSAN.

The class begins with coverage of some traditional storage technologies and how these compare with a hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) storage solution such as vSAN. From there, the instructor quickly moves to providing details on vSAN architecture and use cases. Students learn how to configure and manage an HCI solution powered by vSAN through both lecture and multiple hands-on lab exercises. Lessons also cover “Day 1” and “Day 2” topics such as capacity management, monitoring and alerting, upgrading, troubleshooting, and interoperability with VMware and 3rd-party products. If you prefer working and automating via a command line interface, you will get a fair share of this, as well. Last, but not least, students receive tips and recommendations for designing and sizing a vSAN cluster to help ensure successful deployment.

Customers and VMware solution resellers will benefit equally from this class. It was designed with both types of attendees in mind. If you and/or your organization deploys and manages HCI solutions powered by vSAN, I encourage you to review the course outline and sign up for this class today.
