At VMware Explore 2022, we are excited to announce innovations across VMware Anywhere Workspace, including updates for VMware Workspace ONE and VMware Horizon. Read on for a summary of our press release and all of our blog posts, and where to find our session videos.
VMware Explore 2022 Announcement press release
In our press release, we outlined the journey from manual, task-centric management to an outcome-driven autonomous workspace concept. An autonomous workspace can be self-configuring, for example, using desired state management. It can be self-healing, using data science and automation to detect and isolate end-user experience incidents and then remediate them. And it can be self-securing – again using data science and automation – to detect security and compliance vulnerabilities and take automatic actions to secure workspace access or quarantine apps or devices, and then remediate these anomalies to ensure a return to desired posture.
What’s new in Workspace ONE UEM
In UEM, we are sharing several important announcements, all highlighting how Workspace ONE addresses an ever more complex endpoint environment. Freestyle Orchestrator will be expanding to include support for mobile devices. Windows multi-user support is currently in Tech Preview of Azure AD-based deployments, and will be extended to Active Directory-based deployments. And, there are updates for Workspace ONE XR Hub, our integration between Intel vPro and Workspace ONE, desired state management for mobile, data-driven user interfaces in the UEM console, and ChromeOS. Lastly, we are announcing the Workspace ONE Cloud Marketplace, which will feature dashboards, widgets, reports, Freestyle Orchestrator workflows, and other resources that can be imported to help customers adopt additional solutions.
What’s new with digital employee experience at VMware Explore 2022
We continue to share our vision of a complete digital employee experience (DEX) methodology, including delivering, measuring, analyzing, and remediating employee experiences. We are continuing to expand the scope of our DEX solution – today we announced employee experience scoring capabilities for Horizon, as well as frontline solution packs for Workspace ONE Intelligence. Intelligence Guided Root Cause Analysis, announced previously, is now available.
The next generation of VMware Horizon Cloud is here!
VMware Next-Gen Horizon Cloud was announced at VMworld 2021, went into Limited Availability in spring of 2022, and is now Generally Available for Horizon Cloud environments on Microsoft Azure. Next-Gen Horizon Cloud brings dramatic scalability, cost savings, published APIs, and simplification through its “thin-edge” architecture.
Simplify and speed virtual desktop delivery with Horizon Managed Desktop
Horizon Managed Desktop, announced today and expected to be available soon, will provide a managed service offering that takes care of lifecycle services, support, and more, on top of customer-provided infrastructure. This will help customers that don’t have in-house experts get to value with VDI faster.
Revolutionize virtual apps by publishing apps on demand on generic RDSH servers
This new capability will combine App Volumes Apps On Demand with our Horizon app publishing capabilities to simplify app publishing and save on resources.
Google ChromeOS devices are now a validated solution with VMware Horizon for healthcare
VMware and Google worked together to validate ChromeOS devices and specialized peripherals for key healthcare use cases.
Intel vPro and VMware Workspace ONE: An unparalleled integration for chip-to-cloud management
The Intel vPro and VMware Workspace ONE integration became available earlier this summer, and enables several unique management capabilities, including out-of-band management for devices that are powered off or have operating systems that are not functioning. Today, we are announcing a partner program to help customers take advantage of this integration.
