Christos is a VMware Fellow and the CTO of the Storage and Availability Business Unit, where he is in charge of strategy and technical product roadmap. He started and co-architected VMware’s vSAN product, currently the market leader in hyper-converged storage. Christos has 25 years of research and development experience in distributed systems, fault tolerance, storage, and storage management. He has co-authored more than 20 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He has 30 issued patents with several more pending. He holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece and a PhD in Distributed Computing from Imperial College, London, UK.
