Darren Hart

As a former VMware employee in the position of Senior Director of the Open Source Technology Center, Darren led the engineering team in their efforts to contribute to open-source projects as well as advocate for open source engineering best practices. Prior to VMware, he spent 7 years at each Intel and IBM where he worked on real-time Linux, embedded platform enabling, ACPI specifications, open hardware, and safety critical software. He maintained the Linux Kernel x86 platform drivers from 2014-2019 and today, contributes to a variety of open source projects and communities. He has degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science, and lives with his wife and two children in Portland, OR.
