From innovation to production – that’s the mantra VMware will embody at this year’s KubeCon Europe 2018. As the Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s flagship conference, KubeCon Europe 2018 will gather an estimated 5,000-6,000 open source and cloud-native developers, architects, technical leaders, CIOs and CTOs in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 2-4. Throughout three days, this community will collaborate to further the education and advancement of cloud-native computing.
As a Diamond-level sponsor of KubeCon Europe 2018, VMware will have a significant presence at the conference. Visit the VMware booth to explore our many VMware-originated open source projects, meet our open source experts and learn about Pivotal Container Service (PKS). Our experts will be sharing their expertise in 11 different ways: from breakout sessions and lightning talks, to leading SIG meetings and hosting group meet-ups, to full-on technical deep dives. However, if you’re looking to really immerse yourself in the world of open source, here are three sessions and keynotes you absolutely cannot miss:
- Kick off KubeCon in style by attending Chief Open Source Officer Dirk Hohndel’s rapid five-minute keynote address during the conference’s first day.
- VMware’s Yang Yu and Yifeng Xiao will host a lightning talk offering tips on operating Kubernetes with OpenStack Cloud Provider for beginners.
- Open Source Engineer Tim Pepper will host a session on growing as an open source contributor by highlighting insights from a Kubernetes newcomer working within the release process.
In the KubeCon exhibit hall, VMware will have its own booth, two demo stations and host open source office hours for attendees to learn even more about our contributions, with a number of our experts on-hand to showcase the following open source projects:
- Harbor
- OpenFaaS
- Dispatch
- Container Storage Interface
- Photon
- OVN
- Open vSwitch
