The vExpert Cloud Management community is about to celebrate its first birthday! It’s been a tremendous first year with nearly 100 vExperts representing 25 countries from around the globe. For the uninitiated, the vExpert title is awarded to individuals who share their passion and knowledge for VMware technologies through the support of VMware User Groups, public speaking, blogging, and other one-to-many forms of knowledge sharing. The mission of the vExpert Cloud Management program is to build a community of champions that brings together the world’s knowledge of VMware Cloud Management solutions, in a globally accessible form, available across multiple languages.
We are focused on promoting individuals within the vExpert Community who show proficiency in vRealize Operations, vRealize Log Insight, and vRealize Network Insight, and in 2020 we are happy to include vRealize Automation and VMware Skyline into the mix. In the coming year, we will be hosting monthly virtual meetups, issue more challenges like our Zombie VM Hunt, and anything else we can come up with! We will also continue our monthly blog digest series where we promote the best of the best blog posts from our community.
Cloud Management vExperts get direct access to VMware’s Cloud Management Business Unit Product Management, Product Marketing, and even engineering teams. Plus, they get special sneak previews of upcoming releases! We are committed to helping our members grow their experience and skills which will drive the progression of their careers. As a vExpert, you will develop greater confidence by sharing your knowledge and ideas through written, audio/visual, and in-person sharing. Cloud Management vExperts are influential in the evolution of our community and VMware’s Cloud Management products.
If you are a 2020 vExpert who’s passionate about VMware’s vRealize Suite and Skyline and can’t possibly pass up on a great opportunity like this, then listen up. On March 9th , we will be opening applications for the 2020 vExpert Cloud Management program. All current 2020 vExperts are eligible to apply, and an e-mail will be sent to you once registration opens. Please provide specific examples of your work in the past year, including URL’s in your application. Work that is not publicly verifiable will not be accepted. Examples include URL’s to specific blog posts, YouTube videos, VMUG agendas if you spoke at a VMUG, links to community posts such as VMTN or Reddit, and links to social media posts. And if you’ve submitted content such as vRealize Operations dashboards and super metrics via our sample exchange we’ll gladly accept that too! If you don’t feel like you have enough examples to be approved, apply anyway, and be sure to take your time on your application. We’re more likely to accept a thoughtful and well-written application with a few examples than a poorly written or rushed application with many examples.
If you didn’t make it into the 2020 vExpert program, then don’t sweat it. There will be another round of applications in the second half of this year. That way, you’ll be ready to apply to the 2021 vExpert Cloud Management program! You can sign up here to be notified for the vExpert 2020 Second half application.
We’re really excited for 2020 and can’t wait to see you be part of our community! For more information, visit the vExpert website and follow us on Twitter @vExpertMgt.
