Matt Helsley

Matt has more than 20 years of experience learning about and using free and open source software, especially around the Linux kernel. His foray into open source began at UCLA, where he studied the Linux kernel and the UCLA Linux Users Group leadership team, giving him a deep appreciation for the value of open source contribution. After working for 10 years in IBM’s Linux Technology Center on Linux kernel projects such as CKRM, cgroups and checkpoint/restart, Matt joins the systems group within VMware's Open Source Technology Center.
