*Formerly Tanzu Observability aka Wavefront by VMware
We are very excited to announce the latest updates for VMware Aria Operations for Applications. With this release we are able to unify Metrics, Traces, and Logs in a single-pane-of-glass, effectively unifying the three pillars of observability, so as to empower Cloud Administrators, Operators, SREs (site reliability engineers) and even Developers to be able to seamlessly correlate across all available data to identify and resolve issues swiftly.
By allowing the user to jump to Logs from a Dashboard chart or from an alert details view or the detailed Traces view here are some key use cases and benefits that this feature has been able to address:
- Unified Observability: Users can easily map logs and alerts, logs and metrics, and logs and traces. The unified mapping allows the user to carry over context from traces, metrics, common alerts, and integrated dashboards to the new Logs Browser. As a result, customers can effectively troubleshoot critical incidents, respond faster, and reduce downtime.
- Seamless K8s monitoring: With one click of a button, users can easily set up and manage K8s logs, and greatly increase visibility across their workloads running K8s clusters in the Native Public Cloud or NPC.
- Powerful Insights: When combined with VMware Aria Insights (IA), VMware Aria Operations for Applications customers can detect trends, anticipate potential problems, and optimize system performance.
With the release of this feature, we aim to introduce our service to VMware Aria Operations for Logs customers who were unaware of the capabilities of VMware Aria Operations for Applications or were hesitant to try it for lack of this feature. Our service is built with VMware Aria Operations for Logs to handle logs from small to large-scale applications, ensuring that our customers have a seamless experience without having to switch or jump around in multiple applications without losing their troubleshooting context.
