Aria Operations for Logs

What’s New in VMware Aria Operations for Logs SaaS – June 2023 Release

Our June 2023 VMware Aria Operations for Logs release brings two massive new features many customers have requested. We now support scheduling and running reports from dashboards, and we have enabled federated log querying as a beta feature for customers to try out and give us feedback on!

Scheduled Reports

If you’re familiar with our reporting capabilities for Aria Operations for Logs on-prem, our SaaS reporting feature is very similar. All you need to do is choose an already created dashboard, either custom or out of the box, and set up a schedule to have it emailed to a destination. Once the report has been run and emailed, the recipient can choose to access it via PDF attached to the email or link that will bring them to Aria Operations for Logs to review the contents of the report.

Here is an example of the PDF report output of a pie chart showing vCenter administrator logins by vCenter hostname.

Federated Log Querying Between On-Prem and SaaS (BETA)

This feature has been in the works for a while now, and we’re proud to announce a beta release for federated log querying! Once you integrate your on-prem and SaaS Aria Operations for Logs instances, you can try out our federated querying BETA if the feature is of interest to you.

Please be aware that this feature is still in beta, so bugs and hiccups are expected. We recommend that you try it out and offer feedback so we can prepare for a smooth GA of the federated query feature in the coming months!

That’s everything for our June release of VMware Aria Operations for Logs; please give our new reporting and federated query beta feature a try and let us hear from you via feedback in our cloud services portal!
