We have lots of great, new features for our May release of Aria Operations for Logs! More granular usage reports have been added, as well as an option to pause log ingestion. We have also made enhancements to our log explorer, continued our work to bring federated querying between on-prem and SaaS, as well as adding GCVE (Google Cloud VMware Engine) support, and updated some of our content packs to newer versions.
Usage Reporting
The usage reporting screen has become much more detailed in this release. We can now see usage reporting based on log size, and top size contributors. You can also group by different fields to make the data relevant to your use case so that fixing log flooding becomes a much easier task.
Configuring Ingestion Limits
A feature that a lot of Aria Operations for Logs customers have been asking for is the ability to set ingestion alerts. In this release, you can now set daily and monthly log ingestion alerts based on thresholds. You also have the ability to temporarily stop all log ingestion if a critical ingestion limit is exceeded.
Better Aria Operations and Aria Operations for Logs Integration
The integration between Aria Operations SaaS and Aria Operations for Logs SaaS has been enhanced with a new log explorer that is no longer an iFrame that connects to Aria Operations for Logs. The new user interface for logs has a timeline, additional filters, and supports AND/OR conditions.
Federated Log Management Enhancements
We have taken the next step in our journey toward federated log management with the addition of an integrated usage summary screen to show the log ingestion and space usage of all your integrated Aria Operations for Logs on-premises instances. This will help customers who use both products decide where logs and events should be ingested, and how to best utilize their on-prem and SaaS storage.
Google Cloud VMware Engine Support
VMware Aria Operations for Logs SaaS now allows you to ingest logs and events from GCVE (Google Cloud VMware Engine). This includes all relevant SDDC logs. More information can be found in our Aria Operations for Logs documentation.
Other Enhancements
We have updated our content packs for Apache and VMware vCenter Orchestrator with new fields, dashboards, and widgets. There is also support for auto-upgrading the Aria Operations for Logs agent to version 8.10 via the UI.
That’s everything we have for this month. Please try out our new features and feel free to give feedback via the Aria Operations for Logs user interface.
