Today we are proud to announce the upcoming release of VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 2.1, which will continue to refine how you install and manage the vRealize suite of products.

What is vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager?

vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager automates install, configuration, upgrade, patch, configuration management, drift remediation and health from within a single pane of glass, thereby freeing IT Managers/Cloud admin resources to focus on business-critical initiatives, while improving time to value (TTV), reliability and consistency. Automates Day 0 to Day 2 operations of the entire vRealize Suite, enabling simplified operational experience for customers.

Your Content, anytime, anywhere.

By bringing DevOps principles to the management of vRealize Suite content,  Content Management in LCM is an extensible, customizable framework that provides a set of release management processes for software-defined content with the ability to capture, version control, test, release and rollback. This Content Management makes it possible to dispense with the time-consuming and error-prone manual processes currently required to manage software-defined content. Supported content includes entities from vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestration, vSphere 6.x, and now with LCM 2.0 we support vRealize Operations content. All of this content can be sourced controlled by Gitlab.

The best part is that vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager is FREE for all vRealize suite customers!

So What’s New for 2.1?

Content Management Enhancements

Allow capturing Multiple content in one go!

Capture all of your content all at once, doesn’t matter if is blueprints or vSphere templates, now everything can be capture and deployed all at the same time.

Support for newer vRealize Automation content types – custom forms

vRealize Automation 7.6 introduces new Custom forms to enhance an already rich extensibility platform, of course LCM is there to support it.

Enable support for Source Control Management (SCM) endpoint: Bit bucket

BitBucket is now a supported Source Control Management endpoint alongside GitLab. We support both versions of Bit Bucket, Cloud and Server.

Identity Management Suite Enhancements

Simplified Management of VMware Identity provider (vIDM)

Manage your vIDM instance all from LCM, from installing it, to managing it, now is much easier with vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 2.1. You can also import an existing VMware Identity Provider instance. Please note that 3.3 or above required. We have also simplify the ability to add and remove Active Directory entries, now you can easily make changes right from the Lifecycle Manager interface.

Support for Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA)

For those customers using IWA you can now use this level of authentication to integrate with vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.

Other Enhancements

Product component level certificate management

Manage each certificate at the most granular level. Each product set can have their own certificates

Deletion of a single vRealize Suite product from an environment

Remove any unwanted products from the UI, simply navigate to your environment, click on the product and select delete, that easy!

Ability to deploy vRealize Suite products to a specific vCenter folder

You can now control were you want the vRealize product set to be deployed in your vCenter. This allows you to stay organize and have a nice flowing structure in your vCenter server.

Support for NTP server configuration for the LCM appliance

In previous version of the Lifecycle Manager we added support for configuring an NTP server for the vRealize suite of products, now we have that support for the appliance itself so is always in-sync.

In Conclusion, with this release we continue with our vision to make the hybrid cloud easy, and more specifically, make the vRealize Suite management easier.  Download your copy today!
