VMware Announcement: A Message From CloudHealth CEO Tom Axbey

On August 27, 2018, VMware announced its intention to acquire CloudHealth Technologies. This is an exciting day for all of us here at CloudHealth and is only the beginning of a very bright future ahead.

Six years ago, our founder and CTO, Joe Kinsella, recognized the magnitude of the impact that cloud computing would have on businesses of all sizes as they embraced cloud technologies.  His vision, along with co-founders Dan Phillips and Dave Eicher, was to build an open, extensible SaaS platform that would serve as the single pane of glass for organizations to manage and monitor their cloud environments.

Aligning Two Visions

We are here today because we successfully executed on that vision and delivered the world’s first enterprise-class, multi-cloud management platform.

In early discussions with VMware executives and team, we realized that our respective visions for the importance of a multi-cloud management platform were completely aligned.  The vision synergies were matched by the global nature of our teams, customers, and partner ecosystems – In addition, a parallel culture of innovation, excellence, and care led to the logical conclusion that as a combined entity we could expedite our vision and serve all constituents at a higher level.

VMware is an industry leader and a pioneer in virtualization and cloud innovation. I can think of no better partner for CloudHealth to join forces with, to accelerate our platform services and functionality.

The Future of the CloudHealth Mission

Our mission under VMware will remain the same. As organizations of all sizes face business challenges throughout their cloud adoption journey, our goal is to provide the most trusted software platform to simplify cost management, security compliance, governance, and service integration, and ultimately accelerate business transformation in the cloud.

I’d like to thank our customers and partners around the globe for their important role in our growth, our roadmap, innovation, and our culture.  Not only do we look forward to our continued partnership with each of you, but we also have significant roadmap initiatives underway that will expand the platform’s functionality.

On a Personal Note

This would not have been possible without the amazing CloudHealth team. I’d like to highlight their efforts and the work they do every day with our most important cultural tenet, always at the forefront – to exceed customer expectations. Thank you for being so dedicated.

Our future is brighter than ever and I’m looking forward to continuing this exciting journey with you. As I said before, this is only the beginning!
