vRealize Business for Cloud provides out of the box cloud cost and capacity management for IT teams across their software defined data center (SDDC) and multi-cloud environments. For more information visit vRealize Business for Cloud web page.

With the release of version 7.3.1, vRealize Business for Cloud can now perform capacity planning for VMware Cloud on AWS to migrate applications / clusters / VM. This capability is featured as VMC Assessment. For more information visit VMware Cloud of AWS.

 

Key Highlights of vRealize Business for Cloud 7.3.1

 

  • VMC Assessment for migrating applications / clusters / VMs from private cloud to VMware Cloud on AWS

VMC assessment helps customers to identify the costs of migrating applications / business services / clusters / VMs from private cloud to AWS. Following screenshot provides an overview on the assessment. A minimum of four hosts is required for VMware Cloud on AWS. Blue region on the hosts indicates the utilization level for the workloads to be migrated. The monthly costs for VMware Cloud on AWS are shown both in terms of utilization and total purchase costs. 1-year and 3-year subscription costs are added to the VMC assessment to help customers make informed decisions.

Along with the VMware Cloud on AWS costs, the private cloud costs are shown with respect to actual and standard utilization. Standard utilization is based on running the infrastructure at optimal levels.

 

  • Use case driven menu changes in Private Cloud expense and consumption

Operational analysis section has been merged with Expenses to provide holistic view of private cloud cost computation. This reorganized menu provides a simple logical flow of costs drivers, cluster base rate, VM costs and an overview.

 

Business Units, Applications (Business Services), Budgets are now first class citizens in the menu, earlier they were hidden in Business unit list. Applications are now major construct to be used in VMC Assessment.
