Our fiscal year 2021 is off to a good start. As we closed fiscal year 2020, I wanted to share with you the latest Workspace ONE Intelligence updates and new features released in the last quarter of the year. Our Q4 updates include new capabilities in Workspace ONE Intelligence that take our customers a big step forward in their digital workspace journey, both improving employee experience as well as embracing Zero Trust security. Let’s dive into the details.
In this episode, we first highlight Risk Analytics. Risk Analytics is a risk scoring capability that leverages machine learning techniques to identify anomalies in user behavior. It learns a baseline behavior for every user based on historical data, and constantly compares user behavior and device context to the user baseline and to other users within the organization to discover anomalies that might signal a risk. Once a risky behavior is identified, such as the user lagging in updating to the latest OS or downloading an obscure app, the risk score will increase. IT admins can then set up policies based on risk score for conditional access and automations for user notifications, force updates, etc. As companies are slowly embracing the Zero Trust security model, risk scoring is one of the key capabilities they are looking to implement.
We also introduce Roles Based Access Control (RBAC) in Workspace ONE Intelligence. With this feature Admins can assign roles to users and groups and provide different level of access such as read or edit to different sections of the product. Today there are four roles including Analyst, Automator, Administrator and Auditor. We would like this feature to be as flexible and scalable as possible, so this list will grow over time. Watch the video to learn more about each of those roles!
Next, we talk about Windows 10 app approval with ServiceNow. Companies that are on the Employee Experience journey constantly look for ways to make it easier for employees to get their job done, and as a result increase productivity. One of the things that can be really frustrating for employees is to find the app that they need to get their job done, especially if there is a fee for license associated with the app and they want to make sure they comply with the company’s policies. With this capability, the user can request the app directly from the Intelligent Hub catalog. The user doesn’t need to figure out the approval process. Through Automation that is predefined in Workspace ONE Intelligence, a ticket will be created in ServiceNow and this request will leverage an approval flow that has already been set up. The manager will get a notification, and once they approve the request, the app will automatically be installed and available for the user through the Intelligent Hub the next time they log in.
Lastly, we talk about Network Insights. As we continue to improve our mobile app analytics capabilities in Workspace ONE Intelligence, we also introduce Network Insights, which gives visibility into network traffic for your mobile apps. Network plays a big role when it comes to app performance. When a user has to wait to complete a transaction such as login or moving from one screen to another, it creates a negative experience, which can result in drop in app engagement and churn.
