Android Series Ep 13: Samsung Knox Service Plugin

In a previous episode, we discussed the OEMConfig standard and how it enables device manufacturers to deliver value-added features to Android devices without needing EMM integration. For more information on OEMConfig and its benefits, take a look back at Episode 10.

Today we’re taking a deeper look at one of the first companies to take advantage of OEMConfig: Samsung. With its Knox Platform for Enterprise solution, Samsung offers an ever-expanding array of features for its devices running Android. In the past, Samsung would work with VMware to integrate new Knox capabilities into the Workspace ONE UEM console before the features could be used by customers. The process proved lengthy at times as business decisions could pose challenges to timely integration. Today, built on the OEMConfig standard, Knox Service Plugin (KSP) streamlines this process to deliver Knox features to customers on the day they release.

In this latest episode, we sit down with Farid Merchant, Senior Product Manager at Samsung, to discuss how Samsung has created value for customers through KSP. Check out the video below to learn how Samsung is utilizing KSP to provide a robust Android experience.
