With same-day support, VMware AirWatch technology customers will experience no mobile management interruptions with the new iOS 10.3, tvOS 10.2 & macOS 10.12.4.

iOS 10.3, tvOS 10.2 and macOS 10.12.4 are officially live! We’re excited to announce AirWatch same-day support for iOS 10.3, tvOS 10.2 and macOS 10.12.14. Our customers can find custom profiles to support new features on myAirWatch, and look out for updates to the console in AirWatch 9.1.

iOS 10.3

New management updates from Apple with iOS 10.3 complement the education features introduced with iOS 9.3. This includes a restriction for dictation that will prevent students from dictating answers to questions during an assessment.

To protect devices from unknown Wi-Fi networks, supervised devices will be limited to connecting only with known, whitelisted networks. For supervised devices, new commands will be supported to: restart or shut down a device, play sound on devices in Lost Mode, require certain requests to execute only when tethered to a Mac, and push operating system (OS) updates (and enforce user acceptance for updates) over-the-air (OTA) to non-DEP devices.

Our applications are compatible with iOS 10.3, including:

The AirWatch Software Development Kit (SDK) and AirWatch App Wrapping engine have also been updated to support iOS 10.3.

tvOS 10.2

The new device management capabilities, app management features and Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP) support will streamline Apple TV use in the enterprise! Admins will be able to protect Apple TV from unknown devices with the option to disable pairing and incoming AirPlay requests, as well as set up Apple TV in conference room display mode. And with Single App Mode for tvOS, Apple TV will be able to be locked into a single internal app, similar to a mobile device in kiosk mode.

More management OTA is possible with the ability to supervise DEP devices OTA, wipe and restart devices, name devices and push a Global HTTP proxy. To deliver applications, admins can also deploy and install internal applications. Now, admins will be able to configure and manage Apple TV like they do iOS devices, allowing tvOS deployments to scale.

Bring Mac to the Enterprise with a Modern Approach to ManagementmacOS 10.12.4

For Mac, new features focused on security help add additional protection to devices and data. For organizations using smart cards for authentication, rules can be configured to limit smart cards to one per user, as well as require smart cards for login and access. Admins can prevent users from using iCloud to back up their desktop and documents, and enable or disable Touch ID for unlocking devices.
