Announcing the Evaluation Guide for VMware Horizon Cloud Service on Microsoft Azure

This article, Announcing the Evaluation Guide for VMware Horizon Cloud Service on Microsoft Azure, was originally published at the VMware Digital Workspace Tech Zone Blog

One of my colleagues said that if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth ten thousand. Taking that notion to heart, I thought that maybe instead of having a very long document with a screenshot for every step, people might prefer a much shorter document with an embedded video for every procedure.

It was time to update the Quick-Start Tutorial for Horizon Cloud anyway, so that document got the first makeover treatment, including changing the title to “Evaluation Guide for …” rather than “Quick-Start” because, let’s face it, the 88 pages it had did not constitute a quick start.

The new Evaluation Guide for VMware Horizon Cloud Service on Microsoft Azure has half the page count, at 40 pages in PDF form. The 14 embedded videos are each 3–6 minutes long, and cover everything from deploying a pod to configuring the Horizon Universal Broker and exporting reports. The video format also features animated diagrams, in dark mode.

If you would prefer even less print to read, you can view just the videos, in order, by using the YouTube playlist called Horizon Cloud Evaluation Guide.
