By Ben Goodman, Lead Evangelist, End-User Computing
Hopefully you are getting prepared for VMworld and an amazing week in San Francisco!
Recently I covered not-to-be-missed end-user computing (EUC) sessions at VMworld and I’m sure you have registered for all of them by now. Last week I talked about sessions ideal for organizations looking to move from their current non-VMware desktop and mobile solutions to Horizon and AirWatch.
Now I want to talk about another can’t miss EUC event at VMworld, our EUC Spotlight Session: EUC3319-S – End-User Computing for the Mobile-Cloud Era. This is a more in-depth look at many of the features and announcements that will be covered during the EUC section of the Tuesday general session (keynote). The session will feature Kit Colbert – CTO, End-User Computing, John Marshall – SVP & GM, AirWatch and Sumit Dhawan – VP & GM Desktop Products End-User Computing, as well as myself and Harry Labana of CloudVolumes doing demos. (Did you catch the CloudVolumes news!?)
- Sumit will talk about our strategy for the next generation end-user workspace followed by a deep dive and demo of Horizon 6 and Horizon Desktop as a Service (DaaS) and even show off some upcoming new capabilities.
- Sumit will also get further into some of the exciting things that will have just been announced during the keynote. This is the kind of stuff that I would love to tell you about, but I am not allowed to yet!
- John will then give some updates and demos on what is coming from AirWatch. AirWatch will hold some of their biggest announcements for the AirWatch Connect conference that is just 2 weeks away, but John will still have plenty to share.
- Finally, Kit will bring it all together with his update of our Horizon and AirWatch integration plans complete with a demo. (As a side note if you are really interested in this, you can follow me over to my break out session EUC2321 – When Mobile Met Desktop: AirWatch and Horizon Vision and Integration Strategy which will immediately follow the Spotlight Session.)
In summary, the EUC Spotlight Session will have great executive speakers, exciting information and compelling demos. We only have limited time to get across a ton of news during the keynotes, so this is our opportunity to get to the next level of depth. I am looking forward to it, so I hope you will join us.
