In this episode Sachi Bhatt (Technical Product Manager for Tanzu Portfolio) has joined me to shed more light into the Tanzu portfolio integration with VMware Cloud Director 10.2.2. Cloud Providers can now enjoy native integrated support for VMware vSphere with VMware Tanzu Basic.

Tanzu basic is now available for VMWare Cloud Director 10.2.2 offering multiple solutions for (K8s) Kubernetes-as-a-service namely Container Services Extension and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG); TKGs (for vSphere) and TKGm (multi-cloud). Find out which of the solution is best suited to your organization and why.

Furthermore, this session will cover the star feature of VCD 10.2.2 update which allows network isolation for Service Providers who are managing multi-tenanted environments with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid TKGs. Watch the full video for a detailed demo and learn how to run all the necessary configurations in your VCD 10.2.2 and vSphere environment.

With VCD 10.2.2 and TKGs it is easy for providers to provision and manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycle and policies for multiple tenants.

The ingress load balancing configuration can be managed by supervisor cluster in TKGs which save times for Cloud Providers and makes the process seamless. Moreover, tenant with multiple org VDCs can manage separate Kubernetes policies and Tier 1 gateway which will be configured automatically through TKG-S. This isolation further secures customer workloads, as provider and customer use separate endpoints and SSL certificates. Please note that TKG-S support for VCD 10.2.2 doesn’t require CSE Server installation. However, Container Service Extension 3.0 is updated to support K8 clusters deployment.

Please watch the full Feature Friday episode if you would like to configure the latest Tanzu update for your VMware Cloud Director environment.
