VMware’s vision for the virtual cloud network is to create the industry’s first, complete and full-featured L2-L7+software-defined stack. With that vision, about two years ago, VMware acquired Avi Networks (now known as VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer) to help customers modernize application services by accelerating multi-cloud deployments with automation and self-service.
VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer provides multi-cloud application services with elastic application delivery, security, and pervasive analytics across data centers and clouds (see figure below).
VMware Cloud Foundation, VMware’s hybrid cloud platform for managing VMs and orchestrating containers brings together Compute, Storage, Networking, and Cloud Management across private and public clouds, and is critical to facilitate this virtual cloud networking goal to customers.
With the release of VMware Cloud Foundation 4.3, we introduced VMware Validated Solutions – Technical validated implementations for building secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure for applications and workloads deployed on VMware Cloud Foundation. One of the first VMware Validated Solutions to become available is Advance Load Balancing for VMware Cloud Foundation.
Advanced Load Balancing for VMware Cloud Foundation solution brings the power of VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer to deliver enterprise-grade L4-L7+ application services including local load balancing, app security & WAF, container ingress, GSLB/DNS and more on the VMware Cloud Foundation (see figure below).
Advanced Load Balancing for VMware Cloud Foundation solution is a validated technical implementation by VMware for building secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient load balancing infrastructure for applications and workloads deployed on VMware Cloud FoundationVMware Cloud Foundation. Customers can leverage this solution to rapidly implement VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer in a VMware Cloud Foundation environment to increase security, automation and provide enterprise-grade developer-ready infrastructure for load balancing. In addition, automated workflows will be provided using most popular orchestration tools to deliver Infrastructure-as-Code, providing accelerated time to value.
