In understand it can run Windows 10 as a VM, but the thing I can find nowhere is – does workstation run ON Windows 10? I can’t upgrade to Windows 10 on my base machine until Workstation actually runs on it. I have seen no compatibility info related to current or future plans related to Windows 10.

    Thanks in advance!

When trying to run existing VM workstation with VMworkstation running under Windows 10 I get the following
Could not get vmci driver version: The handle is invalid.

You have an incorrect version of driver “vmci.sys”. Try reinstalling VMware Workstation.

    Module DevicePowerOn power on failed.

Failed to start the virtual machine

    Suggestions?

Open the configuration file of the VM you are trying to power up in notepad and edit the following line: vmci0.present = “FALSE” (set the vmci0.present to FALSE and the issue should be resolved)

A wee bit of mischevious spin by vmware here; You DON’T need to upgrade to vmware workstation 11 to run Windows 10 – I have been running to of the three insider versions (PRO and Enterprise) for months in VMware workstation 10 with absolutely NO problems
