Don’t Miss These vSphere Sessions at VMware Explore 2022

It is hard to believe three years have passed since we all got together in person at VMworld 2019. Virtual conferences aren’t quite the same, so we can’t wait to see each other face-to-face at VMware Explore US on August 29. While the conference may go by a new name, it will still provide you the same great opportunities to update your skills, gain new insights, meet product experts, and connect with peers. If you haven’t already registered for the conference yet, there’s still time.

For those who will be joining us at VMware Explore US, make sure to review the VMware Explore content catalog and mark the sessions that interest you. This blog will highlight the key sessions to attend for those most interested in vSphere.

vSphere+ and vSAN+: The Next Evolution of VMware Enterprise Workload Platform [CMK2208US]

Wednesday, Aug 31 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM PDT

VMware vSphere+ and VMware vSAN+ bring the benefits of cloud to your on-premises workloads by delivering high-value cloud services for IT admins and developers to supercharge IT productivity and accelerate developer velocity for existing and next-gen applications. VMware is unleashing this compelling value without teams having to move or make any changes to existing workloads or hosts. It’s completely non-disruptive to the business and designed for easy adoption. This session will introduce new product innovations in vSphere+ and vSAN+ that help customers improve workload performance, enhance operational efficiency, and increase time to value for DevOps. The subscription offerings enable VMware to deliver new value to customers faster via the VMware Cloud Console, such as advanced use cases like disaster recovery as a service, ransomware protection, vRealize integration, and many others as they become available. During the session, you will also hear from Lexmark – a long-time vSphere customer and early vSphere+ adopter – who will share about their transformation journey.

Delivering Modern Machine Learning and Data Science Use Cases with NVIDIA AI on vSphere [CEIB1566US]

Thursday, Sep 1 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM PDT

A key improvement in modern applications is to make them smarter for users by enabling them with AI/machine learning (ML). You see examples of this with facial recognition on your cell phone, recommendations while shopping online, or in your more nuanced interactions with a chatbot in a call center. This talk identifies a set of use cases and applications running in a virtualized environment taken from NVIDIA LaunchPad, a free hands-on trial environment with curated labs. Examples will be given in the fields of image recognition, natural language processing and tabular data, where AI/ML is known to excel—and even, in some cases, exceed human capability. We will then look at the supporting tools/platforms within the NVIDIA AI Enterprise Suite, running on VMware, to determine which of those tools/platforms match the use case. We will mention best practices for choosing these tools to suit your purpose. The talk explains the principles of enabling ML models with accelerators, such as GPUs, SmartNICs and DPUs, at the VMware vSphere and vSphere with VMware Tanzu levels. Our goal is to give you practical examples from our experience with NVIDIA AI Enterprise on vSphere, so you can choose the right project to pursue successfully early on. We will conclude by identifying the business stakeholders you will need to succeed more broadly with AI/ML in your enterprise. Leaving this talk, you will have the confidence to identify candidates for use of AI/ML and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise Suite for implementation.
