Leadership Announcement VMware

Leading SD-WAN AGAIN: VMware Named a Leader in the Gartner 2019 Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure

For the second year in a row, VMware has been named a Leader in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure! Amongst 19 of its competitors, VMware emerged as a leader, positioned furthest in Completeness of Vision and highest in Ability to Execute

Since the first Gartner Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure was published last year, the VeloCloud, now part of VMware team continued to collaborate with its customers and partners to find out what they need to grow their business, and developed against an aggressive roadmap that supports existing and future networking requirements and trends.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure is judged on two axes, Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. At VMware we are making sure that we are always executing to our vision that we have held firm since our early years and which is exemplified by our unique cloud-delivered architecture, ideal for the market needs of the future.

Vision

Trusted with over 150,000 branches, VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud works closely with its customers and partners to charge forward on the network transformation journey. Since the last Magic Quadrant, VMware put significant efforts and resources into expanding its market presence globally to provide enterprises the flexibility of procuring its solution in a scalable fashion that fits their needs. With over 500 channels partners and 100+ telecom service providers offering its VMware SD-WAN in 170 countries, enterprise customers receive unprecedented access to the platform.

For example, our network of clouds supports the rapidly evolving cloud landscape, enabling enterprises to digitally transform their business by being more agile and embracing a cloud architecture, and delivering uncompromised application performance over even best-effort networks. This is especially important for mission-critical and real-time applications. The network of clouds is enabled by VMware SD-WAN’s network of proprietary cloud gateways, easy configuration to existing non-proprietary clouds, and the clouds of existing security and technology partners to create an extensive and comprehensive fabric. VMware SD-WAN’s platform development also includes support for artificial intelligence, self-healing networks, 5G, and more.

More and more services, such as security, analytics and mid-mile connectivity are moving to the cloud, in addition to the already ubiquitous IaaS, PaaS and SaaS clouds. Only a hyperscale SD-WAN architecture can extend access to this network of clouds to all users with a software-defined footprint. Read the report to find out why Gartner placed VMware furthest in Completeness of Vision.

Execution

VMware SD-WAN is a proven robust and scalable platform that employs a horizontally scalable architecture which supports an unlimited number of customers, sites, users, technologies, and applications. It also supports users’ business strategies for unlimited growth and expansion of their existing networks.

VMware SD-WAN enables its customers to consume its services in the way that is right for them and their financial preferences. This includes cloud-based, MSP-based, or cloud-hosted gateways or orchestration; physical or virtual edges deployed at each site; and either OpEx or CapEx consumption.

VMware SD-WAN’s extensive ecosystem of partners (service providers, VARs, resellers, technology, analytics, and more) presents a multitude of deployment options for companies of all sizes. Its unparalleled network of 2000+ hosted and partner gateways, vast ecosystem of resellers, and system integrators, distributors and service providers, and a proven track record of servicing large, complex global networks allow VMware to deliver consistently high-quality SD-WAN capabilities to users anywhere in the world. Read the report to find out why Gartner rated VMware highest in Ability to Execute.
