There is no higher reward for a software vendor than hearing it first-hand from a customer how they use the product, and how it helps them to run their business. Especially when they share it with a highly-reputable, independent industry publication. This is why I am very excited to present to you the Baseline Magazine article about our customer, Rent-a-Center, and how the VMware Cloud Management Platform – vRealize Suite – helps them reinvent their IT.
Rent-A-Center, a national furniture and electronics rent-to-own firm, operates 3,000+ stores across the United States. Its IT environment has been growing fast and now incorporates many disparate, legacy components. “Many of the systems are 10 or 15 years old,” notes Christi Liebe, vice president and CTO. During that time, “We have experienced tremendous data growth, and, as we have added components, we have faced challenges in getting everything to work together effectively.”
To address the challenges of operating this multi-vendor, fast-growing dynamic environment, Rent-a-Center has selected vRealize Suite to manage their Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC). The goal was set to achieve efficient operations, speed up resource provisioning, and improve costs transparency. In the article, Christi Lieve talks at length about the process and the results.
In addition to managing the private cloud, vRealize Suite will also be used to manage bursting capacity in the public cloud with its hybrid cloud management capability. With VMware vCloud Air and vRealize Suite working together, Rent-a-Center will be able to move workloads between the private and public clouds, thus dramatically improving its ability to address the growing demands of a digital business.
