CloudHealth and AWS Marketplace SaaS Contracts

Those who attended AWS Summit San Francisco this week heard Amazon CTO Werner Vogels announce SaaS Contracts for AWS Marketplace (check out his presentation slide, below). CloudHealth Technologies is proud to be among the first 20 partners at launch to support the new AWS Marketplace SaaS Contracts. The CEO of Splunk, another seller on AWS Marketplace SaaS Contracts, was also onstage, highlighting the system’s many advantages — which include consolidated billing, meaning your SaaS contract will show up as a line item on your AWS bill.

SaaS Contracts lets customers select monthly, one, two, and three year contracts for SaaS and API products (CloudHealth Technologies currently supports yearly contracts). In a blog post, Amazon explains how this gives AWS customers more options and greater flexibility in how they procure software through AWS Marketplace:

Customers can use a shopping-cart like experience to determine the number of included units and the duration of their contract. Customers can take advantage of potential cost savings resulting from longer-term contracts and will have the ability to expand their subscriptions at any time. Customers that purchase monthly contracts can expand to a one, two, or three year contract term as needed, and can take advantage of automatic, configurable renewals.

Several months ago, when Amazon announced AWS SaaS Marketplace, CloudHealth Technologies was also one of the first to launch on SaaS Marketplace. Now, with this latest announcement, AWS brings even better Marketplace support for SaaS vendors and customers.
