vRealize Network Insight

New: vCenter Plugin for vRealize Network Insight v2.0

I’m very happy to announce the release of version 2.0 of the vCenter Plugin for vRealize Network Insight! If you’re not familiar with it, the vCenter Plugin is a Fling that installs into vCenter and displays a dashboard filled with useful networking data, related to the vCenter you’re in. You don’t have to leave the comfort of vCenter to take advantage of the vRNI data.

Version 2.0

The new version is really exciting and incorporates a ton of feedback we’ve been getting from customers that are using v1. Here are the highlights:

Switching between vCenter and vRNI

This has to be the most exciting feature. We added the ability to quickly and easily switch between the vCenter and vRealize Network Insight interfaces, by adding Launch in Context actions. These actions allow you to open the vRNI Dashboard and search for traffic details for the following objects: VM, Host, Cluster, and Datacenter.

Right-click on any of these objects in vCenter and there’s a new context menu available:

Other Features

  • Support for the vCenter dark theme!
  • We added the ability to disconnect from vRNI and restart the setup wizard.
  • Added a time window selection for the last 1, 7, and 30 days (up from only 1 day).
