Sessions You Can’t Miss At CloudLIVE

CloudLIVE is the industry-leading multicloud conference that is taking place virtually this year on May 20th. The virtual conference starts at 8 AM EST and can be streamed from sunrise to sunset, so no matter where you are in the world you can still experience CloudLIVE. The content has been designed by leading innovators from the industry with the focus on taking your multicloud management strategy to the next level.  Here are a few of the must-see sessions below. Don’t forget to register for CloudLIVE here.

1. The Great Cloud Debate (12:00 PM – 12:45 PM EST and 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM EST)

Watch two of the brightest minds in the cloud industry, Corey Quinn, Economist at the Duckbill Group, and Stu Miniman, Host of the Cube, take on decisive topics and create a convincing argument for or against the statement—regardless of their (or their employer’s actual opinion). Which side will you end up agreeing with? Who will have the strongest arguments and be dubbed the Greatest Cloud Debater? We’ll leave it up to you to vote!

2. Panel Discussion: The Critical Role of Engineering in your Cloud Center of Excellence (3:00 PM – 3:45 PM EST)

This panel discussion will highlight the essential role that engineering and software development teams have within a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE). In addition to the inputs of operations, finance, and security teams, this panel of speakers from companies like Domo, Change Healthcare, and AWS, will discuss the unique responsibilities that engineers and developers have in shaping cloud best practices that balance the need to deliver software fast and within tight IT budgets.

3. Cloud Security in a DevOps World (4:00 PM – 4:45 PM EST)

How do you move away from a centralized model for tech ops and “shift left” on security, without sacrificing agility or speed? In this session, Secure State customer Jobcase will chart their journey and explain how the team embodies a “develop quick, act fast” mentality through a collaborative effort between DevOps and engineering. From rightsizing environments, to autoscaling groups, and educating various teams across the company, Patrick Hetherton will discuss how Jobcase put guardrails in place to develop safe, secure applications as the company empowers America’s workforce.

4. Stop Wasting Money In The Cloud! (7:00 PM – 7:45 PM EST)

The session will showcase Robert Half International’s efforts to develop an internal quarterly business review (QBR) process to reduce cloud expenses and to apply cost optimization best practices across the enterprise. Expanding upon the CloudHealth QBR process, the Robert Half Cloud Center of Excellence has developed a repeatable process for identifying cost saving opportunities and ensuring that action is taken on them. This session will provide information on how the process was started, how it continues to evolve, and how other companies can develop their own processes. Attendees will also get insight into the metrics and reports that Robert Half is leveraging to lower costs across Robert Half’s 200+ accounts.

Why these sessions?

There has been a strong emphasis of establishing a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) within the cloud community.  The CCoE spans three areas of excellence: cloud financial management, cloud operations, and cloud security & compliance. These sessions will give you meaningful insight no matter where you are in your cloud journey.
