Today, we are launching VMware’s next-generation Network Automation solution, powered by VMware vRealize Automation 8.1, VMware’s modern infrastructure automation platform, and VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.0, the latest release of VMware’s flagship network virtualization platform.

As mentioned in our previous Network Automation blog, VMware vRealize Automation 8.1 and VMware NSX-T Data Center help organizations accelerate their journey to hybrid cloud operations by implementing Network Automation and extend network and security policies across modern apps, IT environments, and private clouds. By leveraging the modern infrastructure automation and infrastructure DevOps capabilities in vRealize Automation 8.1, networking admins can ensure their NSX-T configurations and security policies follow workloads as they are moved between different environments, or changed, or retired. VMware’s Network Automation solution dramatically reduces the extensive manual rework needed when network configurations are updated, reducing firewall rule sprawl, and delivers fast, consistent networking and security capabilities for both traditional and modern applications.

In addition to the enhanced Network Automation capabilities delivering better ease of use, greater flexibility, and increased efficiencies to both cloud admins and network admins, vRealize Automation 8.1 delivers expanded integration with NSX-T Data Center 3.0. NSX-T Data Center 3.0 is certified with vRealize Automation 8.1, and takes full advantage of its powerful infrastructure DevOps capabilities, such as Infrastructure as Code, and infrastructure pipelining, and support for on-demand networks, security groups, and load balancers. Support for consuming NSX-T Data Center 3.0 networking constructs through the Policy API and support for NSX-T Federation (NSX-T Global and Local Managers) will be made available in future releases of vRealize Automation.
