vCenter Operations vRealize Operations

vCenter CapacityIQ 1.0.4 is now available, supports vSphere 4.1

This is to announce that
vCenter CapacityIQ 1.0.4 is now available. This is a maintenance release that adds support for vSphere
4.1. Only customers using vSphere 4.1 are encouraged to
upgrade to this release; there are no additional enhancements in this version.

Customers using previous versions of CapacityIQ
can upgrade to version 1.0.4. You can check out the release notes
and download a full install package or an upgrade
package for Capacity IQ 1.0.4 here
.
If you want to tryout CapacityIQ, please check the evaluation page.

I also want to draw your attention to couple items from the release notes:

  • This release does not support virtual machine-based licensing for CapacityIQ. CapacityIQ will provide this type of licensing support in an
    upcoming release.
  • CapacityIQ 1.0.4 supports 200 hosts, 2000 powered on virtual machines,
and a total of 3000 virtual machines. These scalability limits exist
even though the limits of vCenter Server 4.1 are 1000 hosts, 10000
powered on virtual machines, and 15000 registered virtual machines.

As always, please let us know your feedback.

Update: Eric Sloof @ NTPRO.NL has posted a quick video about deploying CapacityIQ 1.0.4. Thanks Eric!
