If you are looking for courses to help improve your career or the performance of your staff, you should be able to find what you are looking for quickly and easily. We are continually updating the VMware Learning website to better support our students. In Part 1 of our transformation, we updated our course information page, information panel, and course descriptions. You expect a high-quality customer and digital experience for all your learning needs, and we aim to deliver it now and into the future.
We updated our learning website based on student feedback, and with this launch, we delved deeper into our search insights and course structure to meet students’ needs. The second part of our series covers what we updated and why.
Our search function is now more powerful, relevant, and easy to use.
Finding the right course for your needs can be challenging and time-consuming. We have redesigned VMware Learning’s search to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. You will be able to locate your courses more quickly with more relevant results. Furthermore, you will spend less time sifting through jobs that do not match your career and lifestyle needs.
As part of our efforts to streamline our students’ search efforts, our developers explored options that would simplify the search process. It was imperative that our results be exceptional. By working together internally, we developed a solution to reduce pages and content overlap to create an optimal experience for our students.
Unified search across ILT and self-paced courses
We unified our search parameters across ILT and self-paced digital learning courses, including our labs and webinars. Previously, our search was segmented by types of classes, which meant it could take multiple searches to find what you were looking for.
We’ve now made it easier for you to instantly view Instructor-Led, On Demand, labs, and webinars all in one area.
With this refreshed search experience, VMware Learning makes it easier than ever to have available courses at your fingertips.
Updates to Instructor-Led Training class schedule tab
Earlier this year, we updated the site to include a ‘Select a Class’ tab that appears on all instructor-led course pages. This tab now includes a list of all classes available for the course. There are two ways in which users can access this tab, by clicking directly on it or by clicking on the ‘Enroll in class’ button.
Improved filters capability
To make the filtering process more intuitive, the filters are located at the top of the page. The class filters, previously located in the right-side navigation panel, now sit above the class list for better visibility. Customers can quickly filter and sort classes to find what fits their needs. They can also enroll in classes or join a waitlist directly from this view.
When you click on ‘Enroll’ you will be taken directly to the registration form. Due to the popularity of many of our classes, in the event there is a waitlist for the course selected, you will be redirected to a waitlist registration form
