Just a couple of weeks ago, we announced VMware App Volumes 3.0. This release marked a huge milestone for the App Volumes team, given the enhancements we made to the App Volumes product. App Volumes 3.0 gives IT a unified platform for application delivery and user management with exciting new features such as AppToggle and AppCapture. The aim is to provide a modern and integrated approach to application lifecycle management, user environment management and proactive monitoring.
Delivering and managing apps and users in VDI and published application environments, while also providing superior user experience, has traditionally presented challenges for IT. IT would encounter everything from slow delivery, unreliable results and high infrastructure and support costs due to using legacy tools and outdated processes. With App Volumes 3.0, available later this quarter, we provide customers with a better way forward, more of which you can read in our announcement.

Early last year, we introduced our customers to the concept of VMware Workspace Environment Management, which is an end-to-end approach to application and end-user management across physical, virtual, and cloud-hosted environments. App Volumes 3.0 moves our customers closer to delivering complete Workspace Environment Management. We created a boot camp video series, presented as technical deep dives for products that help customers achieve Workspace Environment Management.
The videos include:
- App Volumes
- User Environment Manager
- vRealize Operations for VMware Horizon
- VMware Identity Manager with ThinApp
Download the presentations available in each of these videos in this consolidated eBook.
In addition, we have some short videos that show considerations for achieving Workspace Environment Management specifically in Citrix environments using App Volumes Enterprise (formerly the Horizon Application Management Bundle). The videos include Application Delivery Considerations, Application and User Management Considerations, User Management Considerations, Monitoring Considerations, and Identity Management Considerations, all for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environments. It’s a great series of short overview videos that highlight components of App Volumes Enterprise (formerly the Horizon Application Management Bundle).
We hope these videos help get you started with App Volumes, regardless of what VDI or app publishing platform you use.
