Horizon has long been recognized for its ease of deployment, manageability, and predictability…all critical factors in the world of IT. These attributes have helped make Horizon with View the market-leading VDI product that it is. But the importance of these same factors applies to other infrastructure components, especially storage. Feedback from customers has typically been that storage is one area where they would like to see improvements in ease of deployment, predictable scale and performance, and, of course, lower costs.
To help tackle these challenges, we have created Proven Storage solutions in the VMware Horizon Fast Track 2.0 program. Customers can have confidence that certified Proven Storage solutions will perform as tested, with the stated scalability. With this information, customers can avoid under- or over-provisioning storage, ensuring that end users get the experience they want, and IT gets predictable scale and cost.
When Proven Storage partners certify their offerings, they become eligible to apply the VMware Ready mark. Proven Storage validation indicates that they have passed a standardized test running an industry standard workload, at levels of 1,000 and/or 2,000 virtual desktops…this scale of certification is the highest in the industry. VMware Ready designates the highest level of VMware endorsement for products and solutions created by our established partners.
The Proven Storage solution is the third component of the VMware Horizon Fast Track 2.0 program, which already has solutions for Turnkey Appliances (formerly Rapid Desktop Appliances) and Validated Reference Architectures.
