In our never-ending quest to make Horizon remote applications feel just like native applications, we have added support for Moom into the Horizon Client for Mac. Moom is a clever third-party utility for the Mac that makes it easy to resize windows to pre-defined areas. With Moom, you can set windows to resize to half screen, quarter screen or full screen. You can also set custom sizes and locations, all of which will be available by hovering over the green button in the Mac window frame. Previously, you couldn’t use the utility to resize windows from remoted applications.
Here is a video of Moom in action with the Horizon Client for Mac.
Take advantage with Horizon for Mac
To take advantage of this new Moom functionality, you need both the latest Horizon for Mac client 4.9 as well as the latest agent. Which means this will only be available if your environment is running Horizon Server and agent version 7.6, all released in September 2018.
We’ve tested and explicitly support Moom. But our spot checking with Cinch and SizeUp also work. Cinch allows you to precisely resize a window simply by dragging to the left, right, or top screen edge and SizeUp allows you to quickly resize and position your windows with keyboard shortcuts or a handy menu bar icon.
