Employees in today’s world of clouds, apps and mobility have a simple definition to enable them to be productive: anytime, anywhere access to apps on any device they can work from. VMware helps enable organizations in delivering this experience with VMware Workspace ONE, the intelligence-drive digital workspace platform that helps to simply and securely deliver and manage any app on any device. By integrating access control, application management and unified endpoint management, IT can manage all endpoints – iOS, Android, Windows 10, macOS and ChromeOS, and deliver more secure access to all apps – web, mobile, SaaS and Windows.
As our customers continue along their journey to the digital workspace, they’re looking for advantages in helping them deliver even better user experiences while improving security. We’re excited to announce a partnership with Okta today to help offer just that. By providing deep integrations between VMware Workspace ONE and the Okta Identity Cloud, our mutual customers will be able to benefit from an enhanced user experience and greater security, all while being able to leverage their existing investments in both platforms in a streamlined and configurable manner. We’re bringing together the leading digital workspace platform in Workspace ONE, with the leading identity-as-a-service platform in the Okta Identity Cloud, to help our mutual customers deliver advanced identity capabilities for their digital workspaces.
Renu Upadhyay, senior director of product marketing for End-User Computing at VMware and Mike Paiko, Director of product marketing at Okta, sat down to help articulate why this partnership is important to customers and what makes the integration exciting:
Let’s dive a little deeper into the context of the product integration and support between Workspace ONE and the Okta Identity Cloud. First, we will be helping customers achieve better security and compliance by enhancing conditional access integration between the two platforms. This means taking Okta’s user-centric access control layer, with policies around credentials, location and network and combining it with VMware’s device-centric access control layer, with policies centered around device state, compliance and posture. Combining context access management across identity and devices will help customers add an extra layer of security. What’s more, with Workspace ONE Intelligence, customers will be able to get even greater visibility and automation across their end-user computing environment. To learn more about what this integration means in enhancing security across a customer’s environment, watch Den Jones, Director of Enterprise Security at Adobe, explain how they are enabling a Zero Trust Framework with VMware and Okta.
The integration between Workspace ONE and the Okta Identity Cloud also will help customers enhance their employees’ user experience, which is critical in driving higher business productivity. Employees can now use one unified app catalog, Workspace ONE, to access Windows, web, SaaS, mobile, virtual and Okta SAML apps. This will help provide a more seamless, consistent and password-less experience. To see a demo of these integrated capabilities, click here.
Together with Okta, customers will be able to solve some of the challenges that revolve around security, user experience and complexity in managing user lifecycle. Our mutual customers will be able to continue to use their existing investments in Workspace ONE and the Okta Identity Cloud to help simplify the deployment and management lifecycle of their users, apps and devices. We are looking forward to expanding these integrations and eager to help customers continue to accelerate their journey to the digital workspace.
