The partner ecosystem of Workspace ONE is an important component in addressing a truly unified management and security solution on all endpoints. Our partner, Liquit, a part of Recast Software, already helps power the Enterprise App Repository (EAR) in Workspace ONE for Windows applications. Today we’re excited to announce that we’re expanding our partnership to address more platforms and use cases.
Extending the Enterprise App Repository to more platforms
The Enterprise App Repository in Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) simplifies Windows application delivery and management of the most popular applications. The catalog of applications gives admins a one-stop shop to deploy hundreds of commonly used, prepackaged, and preconfigured applications that are validated across Windows OS builds and kept up to date, ensuring a guaranteed installation. With the repository, IT can instantly deploy Windows apps to the app catalog in end users’ Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub.
Workspace ONE customers already take advantage of the Enterprise App Repository for instant deployment and updates of Windows applications. We’re excited to announce that the Enterprise App Repository, in partnership with Liquit, will be extended to support macOS applications in the same way. Many of our customers value a cross-platform approach to management in the desktop space so we’ve taken this step to extend the benefits and use cases.
Remediating vulnerabilities in third-party applications
In addition to extending the Enterprise App Repository to help IT deploy more applications across more platforms, this partnership will enable extended third-party application patching for end-to-end vulnerability remediation within Workspace ONE UEM. At VMware Explore 2023 Las Vegas, we emphasized that collaboration with a strong partner ecosystem will help customers achieve a truly holistic approach to vulnerability assessment, prioritization, and remediation that offers breadth across platforms and depth to address all types of vulnerabilities. Using Liquit’s metadata on third-party applications, IT admins will be able to remediate third-party app vulnerabilities automatically in Windows and macOS in the UEM console.
“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of Liquit’s partnership with VMware,” said Peter Hermeling, Co-founder and COO at Liquit, a part of Recast Software. “This is a significant step in our commitment to deliver third-party application related metadata to VMware for their end users, regardless of location, device, or IT management platform.”
