Many years ago, we affirmed our dedication to Apple platforms by launching our comprehensive online training course to help our customers get the most out of the macOS management capabilities in VMware Workspace ONE. Since then, hundreds of our customers, resellers, technology partners, employees, contractors, consultants, and even a handful of students have taken the course. This training course has always been (and remains) free to take and provides a solid educational foundation for any admin who needs to manage Mac devices with Workspace ONE.
Shortly after we launched the online course, we launched the accompanying exam.* Admins who take the training course can then take the exam and, upon passing with a satisfactory score, attain the Workspace ONE macOS Skills badge — a valuable addition to any LinkedIn profile or resume.
Updated macOS management online training course
Today we’re excited to announce significant updates to the online macOS training course, where we’ve added critical new training modules to cover functionality that’s been launched since the course was last updated. The training course is still:
- free to all Workspace ONE customers and partners,
- delivered 100% online, and
- available right now — you can sign up to take it here. (Note that you’ll be required to create a VMware Learning account.)
The goal of this training program is to quickly turn any Workspace ONE admin into a strong Workspace ONE Mac admin, as it covers all the most critical macOS management functions available in Workspace ONE. Even those who have been using Workspace ONE to manage Macs for years are likely to learn new things that can help them create and maintain an exceptional employee experience. And if you’ve already taken the original online course, you need to take the updated course because we’ve added core topics including how to:
- use Sensors
- use the advanced scripting engine
- use Freestyle Orchestrator for Mac management
- manage macOS updates (a new functionality!)
Updated macOS management badge exam
In conjunction with our updated online macOS management training course, we’ve also updated our post-course exam, which is an optional cap to the training course. As noted above, those who pass the exam with an acceptable score will receive a “Workspace ONE macOS Skills” badge.* Use it in email signatures or in forums, not to mention on resumes, and wherever else you can think of, to flaunt your new skills.
It’s time to manage your Macs with Workspace ONE
If your organization is not currently managing macOS devices because you weren’t sure exactly how to go about it, now is the time to get up to speed and stop managing your Macs ad hoc with spreadsheets.
If you’re using some other tool to manage your Macs, this training course is an opportunity to learn about the comprehensive macOS management functionality built into Workspace ONE, so you can consolidate all your device management into ONE solution that will save your organization money, time, and effort.
