Explore Las Vegas 2023 VMware Explore 2023 VMware Workspace ONE Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management

VMware Explore 2023 Las Vegas retrospective: Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management

VMware Explore 2023 wrapped up over a week ago, but we’re still buzzing from the energy of Las Vegas. With all the announcements, breakout sessions, parties, and puppies, there was plenty of excitement to go around. If you missed anything, check out the Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) breakout sessions now available to watch for free, on demand. Unfortunately, parties and puppies are not available on demand.

Our UEM team had the opportunity to interact with customers and partners across expert sessions, labs, meetings, and on the Expo floor. We had wonderful conversations throughout the week with great insights for our team to take away. Here are a few of them.

Unique customers use cases

Talking candidly with customers, we heard directly about their needs and some particularly interesting use cases. One customer described their challenge of supporting personal mobile devices, while protecting against location data leaks, all from extremely remote locations with sporadic cellular service. Another customer was looking to repurpose legacy handheld devices as frontline barcode scanners in retail environments — to be operated by teenage employees. No matter how large or small, every organization has its own unique requirements, and every IT organization has its unique set of challenges. Workspace ONE is powerful because as an extensible UEM platform, it delivers the tools to support all types of mobile and desktop devices, in-person and remote employees, knowledge and frontline workers, various security standards, patching and compliance standards, and the list goes on.

Partner ecosystem

Meeting (and exceeding) customers’ needs is not something that VMware does alone. From technology alliances to sales and go-to-market partnerships, the Workspace ONE team is tremendously proud of the work we do with our partners. Explore provided the opportunity to celebrate these relationships, and we did so by sharing announcements such as the upcoming chip-to-cloud integration with Intel vPro® and taking the stage together in breakout sessions, including “How VMware and Partners Work Together to Solve Your Hybrid Work Use Cases [EUSB2629LV]” and “Workplace Modernization with Intel Endpoint Cloud Services & Workspace ONE [EUST2956LVS].”

Modern UEM

Last, but not least, we felt the excitement and buzz around the enhancements to the Workspace ONE UEM platform. The Workspace ONE team has been working tirelessly to modernize the platform, setting up the next generation of UEM. We are already seeing the returns across multiple areas of the platform. Check out this breakout session, “Deep Dive into 10x More Performant Cloud Native Workspace ONE UEM [EUSB1910LV],” to learn how the modern architecture unlocks performance and scale increases for UEM customers. For benefits in the mobile device realm, the session “Reimagining Mobile UEM with Desired State Management [EUSB1923LV]” breaks down the benefits of declarative management for iOS and Android Management API (AMAPI).

As our team takes a breath to reflect on VMware Explore 2023 Las Vegas, we know VMware Explore Barcelona is just around the corner in November. There is more work to do and more exciting innovations to share. For the latest on Workspace ONE, stay tuned to the VMware End-User Computing Blog, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter)
