Supporting virtual and augmented reality with Workspace ONE UEM and XR Hub – Ron’s Cool Feature of the Week

With virtual reality headsets and augmented reality “glasses” becoming more prevalent, we are seeing customers leverage these devices for job training, education, collaboration and use cases we can’t begin to guess at. This week I had a chance to speak to Matt Coppinger from our CTO’s office about the XR Hub and management of these VR devices using Workspace ONE UEM.

This discussion ran long as Matt and I geeked out about the possibilities for this technology, current customer examples and a demo! If your organization is looking to leverage VR/AR headsets, it provides you with a quick look at our management capabilities (today) and our XR Hub beta.

If you want to dig into the capabilities, supported platforms and features available today in the XR Hub beta, check out the original announcement here: Introducing Workspace ONE XR Hub.

Existing VMware customers can sign up for the beta at https://beta-ea.vmware.com.

In the Ron’s Cool Feature video series, I talk with VMware Product Managers, Engineers, and Field Engineers to dig into and find cool and sometimes overlooked features within our product stacks. Some of these will be new and exciting with lots of fanfare, and others may just be a cool feature that I think has been overlooked but has the ability to really impact the average admin that is dealing with our technology on a daily basis.
