The new Galaxy Note20/20 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S7/7+ and Galaxy Z Fold2 are strong additions to Samsung’s already robust stable of mobile devices built to handle both work and personal uses. As we have come to expect from Samsung, the new Galaxy devices continue the legacy of delivering an elegant user experience while being well-equipped to handle the most demanding applications.

Working Together: VMware Workspace ONE and Samsung Knox

VMware and Samsung have a long-standing partnership and are committed to jointly delivering best-in-class business solutions. Teams at VMware have worked closely with Samsung to develop integrated support for Samsung Knox capabilities in VMware Workspace ONE UEM. Through the Workspace ONE UEM console, IT can manage Samsung devices with zero-day support for all the latest Knox features through Knox Service Plugin integration. This includes Knox Platform for Enterprise features, which offer advanced security and management capabilities for organizations with heightened security requirements. With Knox E-FOTA One, IT organizations can control when OS updates are made on employees’ Samsung devices, manage a single version of the OS within the enterprise, and test new firmware to understand its impact before deployment.

The new Galaxy phones and tablets were built on specs to let users ditch their computers and get work done on the go. Productivity is boosted with VMware Workspace ONE, which provides a digital workspace on Galaxy devices and is accessible wherever you go. The unified app catalog enables easy access all business applications and virtual desktops. The simplicity of single sign-on allows popular services like Office 365, Salesforce and Workday, as well as all behind-the-firewall applications, to be accessed with a single click.

For those that enjoy a desktop experience, Samsung DeX enables these Galaxy devices to support that, too! Samsung DeX transforms the Galaxy experience from mobile to desktop with contextual menus, drag-and-drop functionality, and multiple windows – all you need to do is connect the device to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Even better, Samsung DeX now supports connecting wirelessly to a smart TV with the new Note20/20 Ultra, Tab S7/7+ and Z Fold2 devices announced at Unpacked. If you’re missing a keyboard or mouse, the device can alternatively be used as a virtual keyboard or trackpad. Once in Samsung DeX mode, VMware Horizon can be employed to deliver full-screen Windows desktop experiences or run multiple Windows applications simultaneously on screen.
