VMworld- whether you’re a first-time attendee or a seasoned pro, planning for the week is always a daunting task. What sessions should you prioritize? Will you do a Hands-on Lab? How do you make the most of five days in Sin City? Don’t worry- we’ve got you covered. From the Mobility Zone to the certifications you need to catch on-site, this is the insiders ‘know before you go’ guide to VMworld 2018.
The Basics
Put on your best running shoes, because you’re about to put in the miles. Aside from bringing an extra charger and fueling up on caffeine, planning ahead will be a lifesaver during the week. We have hundreds of learning opportunities, so it’s time to bring out the calendar and prioritize each day. First on your list: the Digital Workspace Keynote.
The Digital Workspace Keynote: End User Computing and Mobility Live! [DW3727KU]
When: Monday, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
In the Showcase Keynote, Shankar Iyer and Noah Wasmer, SVPs and Co-General Managers for End-User Computing, along with myself, and a parade of End-User Computing PMs are bringing you the latest insights and information you can use to be an agent of change and elevate your career. Together, we will be showcasing the newest VMware Workspace ONE product announcements and demonstrating how you can manage, deliver and consume the digital workspace. We’ve been planning this keynote for weeks and I can’t wait to show off what we’ve been working on!
And, did I mention that 300 lucky attendees will receive a FREE Workstation Pro or Fusion Pro License and 10 lucky attendees will receive an AppleTV? If you do one thing at VMworld- this should be it.
Top EUC Sessions

If you’re looking for product demos (we recommend Horizon Cloud on Hosted Infrastructure: Technical Deep Dive), thought leadership (you can’t miss Transform Windows 10 Management with Workspace ONE: What IT Teams Must Know), or shiny new things (register for First Look at New Dell and VMware Developments That Optimize PC Management), we have the top sessions for you.

Fill Out Your Schedule
You know VMworld is more than just sessions, right? This week is all about networking, expert panels, and certifications. We’ve narrowed down our top choices to add to your list.
EUC Community Tech Talks with Brian Madden
When: Tuesday, 5:30 – 7:30pm
Join Brian Madden for a series of short, unfiltered, community-based technical talks from EUC industry thought leaders, just like the early days of BriForum! We’ll provide the stage and your peers (and maybe you!) will provide the content. Topics will include:
- Pushing the limits of vGPU and Blast Extreme: Building a VDI for multiplayer gaming!
- Is VDI finally moving to the cloud? Is DaaS blowing up or dying?
- Is modern PC management really a thing, or will SCCM be here forever?

What’s Next?
Register for the Keynote and sessions! With the VMworld content calendar it’s easy to add all your sessions in one place. We also recommend following along with @VMwareHorizon and @WorkspaceONE where we’ll be sharing the inside scoop during the week. If you’re not attending, there’s still plenty to learn and watch from home.
Have something you’re looking forward to that we didn’t mention here – we’d love to hear it!
