VMworld 2016 is officially underway and the excitement from customers, partners and employees is palpable. With more than 25,000 attendees, hundreds of sessions and great networking activities, organizations are getting fully equipped to be_Tomorrow.
To kick off the morning keynote, VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger discussed how all businesses are digital businesses now, outlined the strategy organizations can take to embrace this digital world, and announced VMware’s Cross Cloud Architecture solutions. Pat also made several predications on cloud adoption percentages over the next 15 years, and that 2019 would be the crossover moment when there will be more machine connected devices than human controlled devices.
Several incredible customer and partners joined Pat and other VMware executives on stage and through video, including IBM, GE, Johnson & Johnson, Citi, Marriott (using Horizon Air and having more than 20,000 devices managed by AirWatch), Columbia Sportswear (see their use of EUC technology here), SAIC, Zebra Technologies and iGov. These organizations are embracing the next industrial revolution to re-imagine their existing processes and to build new systems to drive their businesses forward.
After the keynote, attendees had hundreds of sessions tailored to their areas of interest. EUC customers were able to attend breakout sessions, hands on labs, NDA roadmap sessions, the expo hall and more. The EUC team has been working hard over the last several months to deliver dedicated sessions and content around unified endpoint management, virtual desktops and applications, IoT, and industry specific sessions so attendees can gain insights to build competitive advantage for their organizations.
Tomorrow morning, EUC GM and EVP Sanjay Poonen will outline his vision for end user computing and demonstrate how investments the company has made over the last several years are coming together to create truly consumer simple and enterprise secure solutions for customers and users.
