ThinApp is included in any package you choose from the VMware Horizon Suite, and this is testament to the fact that IT wants to use ThinApp for placing virtual applications on all user desktops. You can place ThinApp virtual application packages on Horizon View virtual desktops, on Mirage-managed physical endpoints, and on the Horizon Workspace. On whichever device a user picks up, they can access their ThinApp virtual application packages.
What is ThinApp? ThinApp is software to virtualize applications so you can run them decoupled from the operating system and from other applications on the desktop. No agent or infrastructure is required on the desktop to run ThinApp packages. Each ThinApp package includes a small ThinApp runtime, or virtual operating system.
Creating virtual application packages with ThinApp saves IT time and money by reducing the overhead associated with testing, deploying, and upgrading applications.
