How to Simplify User Desktops with VDI

IT professionals supporting complex, growing or aging desktop infrastructures know that the amalgamation of data from different sources on each user’s machine increases the complexity of managing user identities. In a recent Google+ Hangout, vExpert Barry Coombs of Computerworld Systems LTD discusses the role VDI plays in simplifying disorganized, disparate desktop resources and profiles. In organizations where desktop infrastructure has expanded to hundreds of machines and beyond, each individual user’s “desktop identity” can consist of data and digital assets assembled over multiple years. Barry describes how he was able to simplify and greatly reduce the number of user “identities” within an organization through centralized management and the elimination of duplicated resources – as a result, only a fraction of the hardware previously required is now needed to maintain the separate “identity” for each employee. Learn more about Barry’s experience in the video below, and download the Desktop Virtualization Business Case Information Guide to help make your organization’s case.
