Everyone cheered when we released an updated Onyx fling that allowed users to finally record their actions in the vSphere Web Client. (you can read about what Onyx for the Web Client is, and how to install it here: https://blogs.vmware.com/PowerCLI/2015/07/new-fling-onyx-web-client.html).
There have been several people tell me that when trying to install it on Update 1 it didn’t seem to work. That’s because the original Onyx for the Web Client fling worked only for vSphere 6.0 and did not work for vSphere 6.0 Update 1. Why? you may ask? It’s simple… Unlike the original Onyx fling, which acted as a proxy between the vSphere c# client and vCenter, Onxy for the Web Client resides on the vCenter server. This means if something is updated between versions of vCenter Server that are being leveraged by Onyx, it may or may not continue working at the next upgrade. Such was the case here.
Fear not, however, as Onyx for the Web Client 6.0 U1 is now here and downloadable on the Flings page https://labs.vmware.com/flings/onyx-for-the-web-client.
Go download it and start using it today!
