#StorageMinute: How VMware Site Recovery easily protects and recovers VMs

Welcome to the #StorageMinute series where we deliver key topics via bite-size content. In this edition, we’ll show you how you can deploy VMware Site Recovery for your DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) solution in less than 10 minutes.

VMware Site Recovery for VMware Cloud on AWS provides production-ready Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) cost-efficiently and on-demand. DRaaS reduces traditional DR costs significantly by allowing for only the compute and storage resources that are needed, without the upfront investments in site or hardware.

VMware Site Recovery is an add-on to VMware Cloud on AWS is simple and fast to activate. In less than 10 mins it will deploy and configure both VMware Site Recovery Manager and vSphere Replication within a VMware Cloud on AWS SDDC.

In the event of a disaster, the recovery of VMs with VMware Site Recovery is simple and easy and only requires a couple of clicks. The entire process of recovery is completely automated and orchestrated with no requirement for manual intervention after starting the recovery.

VMware Site Recovery also handles the process of reprotection and failback. The Reprotect workflow reverses replication and protection and then the VMs are protected opposite the original direction and are ready to be migrated back or recovered.

Testing recovery plans is critically important, and VMware Site Recovery makes testing quick and painless by closely duplicating the actual steps of a recovery without being disruptive to either networking or storage. Replication continues without impact to RPO. And VMs are isolated from the production network.

VMware Site Recovery provides an easy to use, cost-effective solution to organizations looking for DRaaS.
