vVols at VMworld 2019, Make Your Mark
With the continued development of vVols from VMware, and more importantly storage vendors, the adoption of vVols continues to accelerate. More and more customers are realizing the efficiency and ease of use in managing external storage with Storage Policy-Based Management (SPBM). vVols allows policy control of external storage using standard storage protocols. As of vSphere 6.7, vVols supports SCSI-3 PRs, allowing you to place your clustered applications like Microsoft WSFC on vVols, no more RDMs! Need to change the storage capability of a VM or application? Just change the storage policy, no need to migrate to a different datastore! One of the hottest sessions will definitely be the technical preview of SRM with vVols. The long-awaited integration of SRM and vVols is in development and will be demonstrated at VMworld! I’ll be doing a vVols deep dive with Govindan, the vVols engineer and hosting an industry panel Q&A on vVols where you will hear directly from storage vendors.
VMworld is quickly approaching, and sessions are filling fast, don’t miss out on the latest from VMware and storage partners on vVols. I’ve created a list of the vVols and HOL sessions, make sure to reserve your seat. If a session if full, please put your name on the waiting list as the session may be moved to a larger room to accommodate the increased interest.
Cheers and see you at VMworld!
