Building on the excellent momentum built from VMworld 2016 US, the VMware Storage and Availability Products team is looking ahead to VMworld 2016 Europe to show you what’s in store for VSAN, Virtual Volumes, Site Recovery Manager, and more!

So, what does the team have in store at Barcelona?

Quite a lot! At VMworld Europe, there are plenty of opportunities for you to be_TOMORROW:

VMware Partner Exchange @ VMworld Europe

On Monday, 17 October, VMware partners are invited to join VMware Partner Exchange for  sessions, tools, and information necessary to succeed in selling VMware products and more importantly, partners will have a chance to learn about the VMware partner roadmap. With 40+ sessions, and 4 dedicated Solution Keynotes running consecutively during the afternoon, partners get up to speed on the latest and greatest VMware announcements.

Take a look at our featured Partner Exchange Session:

  • STO10804-QT – Virtual SAN for Service Providers – Monday, 17 October 3pm-3:30pm
    • VMware’s Virtual SAN Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) storage platform, with its building-block architecture, offers massive levels of scalability and availability. These credentials make it the ideal platform for public-cloud based environments and other highly-scalable service provider offerings. Being able to correctly design and implement a building-block Virtual SAN platform is critical from a design perspective, in order to optimize operational efficiency, maximize scalability, and provide optimized workload performance.

Strategic Partner Sessions

In addition to the Breakout Sessions offered at VMworld Europe 2016, our strategic partners like Intel, SanDisk, and HPE will be presenting these spotlight sessions, focusing on how to implement solutions such as VSAN Ready Nodes, HCI, and Virtual Volumes to improve your business:

  • Intel
    • STO9396-SPO – Real World Guidance for Implementing VMware Virtual SAN from Ready Nodes to Build Your Own – Wednesday, 19 October – 2pm-3pm
      • If you are considering hyper converged infrastructure, come learn from Intel and VMware engineers on best design practices for Virtual SAN ranging from pre-configured and pre-certified Ready Nodes to certified components that can be leveraged to design your own system for varying workload requirements. This session will also cover guidance and best practices for customers who want to design their own Virtual SAN validated solution, including best known methods for performance tuning, optimizations, and measured cost/performance metrics with CapEx and OpEx considerations.
  • SanDisk
    • STO9607-SPO – Running Business Critical Applications and the Software-Defined Data Center on Hyper-Converged Infrastructure – Tuesday, 18 October – 5pm-6pm
      • This panel session will discuss how to take full advantages of evolving SDS and HCIS capabilities with new flash-enabled architectures, including a number of reference configurations and architectures running the most demanding business applications, OLTP databases and VDI workloads. Panel speakers will provide their real-world insights on key decision criteria to include when considering a flash-enabled HCIS or SDS technology, including performance, density, manageability, and financial considerations. Extensive opportunities for audience Q&A will be included in this session as well.
  • Dell EMC
    • SDDC9462-SPO – The Edge is Still Bleeding: A Face-Melting Technical Smorgasbord of All Things Converged, Hyper-Converged, Cloud Native & Software-Defined – Tuesday, 18 October – 2pm-3pm
      • So much technology change. So much more business pressure. Do you feel the pace of change is becoming impossible? I do. That means it’s time to make decisions about what’s boring, and what matters – and get focused. This is an incredibly difficult and mind blowing task for IT organizations to undergo. In this session, we will discuss all things related to converged and hyper-converged infrastructure, looking at buy vs. build models and what the future holds. We’ll roll up our sleeves to examine Cloud Native Apps and take a look Native Hybrid Cloud strategies, diving deeper into the Software Defined Storage world and view its impact in the modern data center – which by definition lives on and off-premises. In typical Chad fashion, we’ll get our hands dirty with tons of live demos and sneak peeks of Software Defined Storage and Cloud Native Solutions.
  • HPE
    • STO9617-SPO – Containers and VVols – A Technical Deep Dive on New Technologies that Revolutionize Storage for vSphere – Tuesday, 18 October – 2pm-3pm
      • This technical deep dive will get you started with all the key information that you need to know to get a better understanding of Containers and VVols. The goal of this session is to provide you with all the key information that you will need to know before implementing VVols in your own environment such as an introduction to the VVols architecture components, understanding capabilities and storage policies, benefits and improved efficiency of VVols compared to VMFS, preview of the new replication functionality in the next VASA release and finally planning considerations and migration strategies. We explore Containers, starting with what they are, their origins, and why they are so popular. The goal of this session is to prepare you with insights to help develop a persistent storage container strategy that best fits your environment. In this information-packed session you will learn why Containers are interesting for developers and IT operations, how to take a data-centric approach to Containerizing applications, how Containers and storage integrate, what deployment scenarios are available for Containers with persistent storage and finally customer use cases for containers with storage.

We can’t wait to see you in Barcelona! It’s time to be_TOMORROW!
